Qureshi & Jasra on Company Law

The Companies Act 2017 Regulations
Mr. Abdul Rehman Qureshi has authored two significant legal works titled “Qureshi & Jasra on Company Law” and “Compilation of Regulations.”
The first publication, “Qureshi & Jasra on Company Law,” is the firm’s principal reference work, covering the full text of the Companies Act, 2017 (the Act), supplemented by explanatory notes and insightful commentary highlighting key interpretations and gray areas within the legislation. It also includes general notes on essential company law concepts such as the basic features of companies, the powers and responsibilities of owners, directors, and auditors, detailed procedures for meetings, election of directors, company accounting systems, and procedures for winding up. The publication further offers an overview of company law with its historical perspective, identifies anomalies within the Act, and outlines the main changes introduced through the 2017 legislation.
The second publication, “Compilation of Regulations,” brings together all regulations framed under relevant sections of the Companies Act, 2017 and notified by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) up to June 2021. These have been systematically compiled and arranged section-wise to meet the practical needs of legal practitioners, regulators, and corporate professionals. As provided under Section 512 of the Act, the SECP has the authority to issue regulations necessary to carry out the purposes of the Act — meaning that compliance with these regulations is as essential as compliance with the Act itself.
Together, these publications — (i) Qureshi & Jasra on Company Law and (ii) Compilation of Regulations notified under the Act — serve as invaluable resources for regulators, legal professionals, corporate executives, and company officers alike. They provide comprehensive guidance and clarity on Pakistan’s evolving corporate and regulatory framework.
